I recently discovered the wonderful world of salsa by making this peach salsa to take with me on a picnic. I brought a jar with me, and every time I took a bite, I thought of how great it would have been to have actually made it.

As soon as I got home, one of the first things I did was pull out my salsa recipe books, and went searching for an authentic recipe that was easy to follow. I found one that was similar to what I was thinking of making, and just made a few changes here and there. The result? A truly outstanding salsa!

What makes this Peach Salsa so special? It’s a perfect blend of sweet and spicy, with unique additions like lime juice, cilantro, and red onions.

The best part about this salsa? All the peach salsa ingredients go with almost all food! I’ve had it with chips for a snack, but I usually add it to some sort of dish. I’ve even had it with grilled meats, and the salsa was simply amazing!

How To Make Spicy Peach Salsa

Take this salsa to your next cookout or dinner party. It’s sure to be a hit, and you can double or triple the recipe if you’re the host. It makes an awesome appetizer for any occasion.

The sweetness of the peaches and the jalapenos is a great combination that will make your taste buds sing, but if it’s too spicy for you, simply leave out the jalapeno and add in some chopped bell peppers instead.

Spicy Peach Salsa Recipe

This zesty, spicy salsa is a great way to bring a little summer into the winter months. It's full of vitamin A, fiber, and lycopene and it tastes amazing on top of tacos or baked chicken breasts!

Ingredients
  

  • 6 fresh peaches
  • 3 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 1 medium shallot minced
  • 3 tbsp red onion thin slices
  • 2 tsp jalapeno peppers
  • 3 tbsp fresh cilantro
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Combine all ingredients in a large glass or other non-reactive bowl. Season with salt and black pepper, to taste, and stir to combine.
    *Tip: Start with a very small amount of jalapeno pepper and taste before adding more.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator overnight or on the counter at room temperature for at least 30 minutes. Serve with foil packet citrusy white fish or other minimally seasoned fish, chicken, or pork recipe. This can also be served in place of regular salsa with tortilla chips. Enjoy!

Notes

For best results, make this salsa the night before serving so the flavors have a chance to blend. This will also soften the peaches and onion to a nice consistency.
